Intro to Pottery Workshop (Half Day)
About SOCA Intro to Pottery Workshop:
Our Intro to Pottery workshop is suitable for anyone, with or without prior experience in working with ceramics.
We value small-class sizes so that participants can better experience the soca way of making things.
The instructor will begin a discussion to find out more about the participants' previous experience with clay as well as their expectations from the session. Thereafter, participants will be led on a studio walk-through, to learn more about studio pottery practices and the various processes that must occur before a ceramic product is finished.
Participants will be guided to use the banding wheel to create their item of choice. Using a mix of coiling and pinching - foundational techniques of pottery-making - participants will be able to create vessels such as a cup, mug, budvase or bowl. Handbuilding allows participants to have greater control of their outcomes such as the size and forms.
95SGD per person (1 work)
